Sarah Huckabee Sanders says Nancy Pelosi ‘should smile' more

Just grin and bear it, Nancy.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders during an appearance on CNN took a swipe at House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s seemingly sour expression during President Trump’s first State of the Union address — and she used one the internet’s most widely hated phrases to do it.

“The room last night was grossly divided, I’ve never seen Nancy Pelosi’s face like that,” host Chris Cuomo said.

When further pressed on what Trump can do to better unify the country, Sanders said he should continue to do “exactly what he did” during his Tuesday address before taking aim at Pelosi.

“I think Nancy Pelosi looks like that all the time,” she said Wednesday morning. “I think she should smile a lot more often. I think the country would be better for it.”

Telling women to smile more has been dubbed as not only a demeaning phrase, but a sexist one as well — in part due to its association with street harassment.

“She seems to kind of embody the bitterness that belongs in the Democrat party right now,” she continued. “I think last night was a good step forward. Hopefully they can let go of some of that.

“They need to decide Chris, do they love America more than they hate this President? And are they willing to put some of those differences aside, come together and do what’s right for this country?”

The House Minority Leader Tuesday night took to Twitter to speak out against several of Trump’s claims, including on immigration and the GOP Tax bill.

The internet, meanwhile did take note of Pelosi’s dour expressions and took no time slamming Sanders’ comments regarding them:
