Dominelli and Young, from the Toronto Police Service 13 Division, are being investigated by the department's Standards Unit following the incident, the Toronto Star reported.

The two officers allegedly consumed the edibles and called on fellow officers for backup after they began to hallucinate. Dominelli and Young were found in a police cruiser and taken to the hospital.

One of the officers who responded to the call allegedly slipped and hit her head after trying to help one of the intoxicated officers who had gotten stuck in a tree, according to CTV News.

CBC News reported that the two officers obtained the drugs from evidence seized during a raid at a marijuana dispensary Saturday night.

Though both officers have been suspended, they have not been charged as of yet due to the ongoing investigation.

“Our professional standards unit is doing the investigation so I’m not going to comment on the investigation,” Toronto Police Association President Mike McCormack told the outlet.
