Championship games, the Australian Open, Olympics prep -- oh, my!

Plenty is going on in the world of sports as fans eagerly await the Super Bowl on February 4 and the start of the 2018 Winter Games on February 9.

To the chagrin of many, last Sunday's AFC and NFC title games determined that the New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles would be competing for the Lombardi Trophy. As it turns out, nearly the entire country will be rooting for the Eagles.

Down under, the Australian Open continued under the blazing sun, setting up this weekend's final matches.

Elsewhere, college basketball, professional hockey and several winter sports captivated fans who would prefer not to think about another Patriots Super Bowl.
