All free agents, Vikings QBs Bradford, Keenum and Bridgewater wait for answers

Case Keenum wants to stay with the Vikings after leading Minnesota to the NFC North division crown and to the conference championship game.

But Keenum said he remains unclear what the Vikings will do at the quarterback position.

The franchise's previous starters, Sam Bradford and Teddy Bridgewater, finished the season as Keenum's backups and are both free agents when the league year kicks off in March.

When asked if he had any indication from the Vikings that he would be back for the 2018 season, Keenum said, "Nope." Keenum said he was not going to stress about other things on Monday, recognizing it was likely the last time the group would ever be together.

Still, Keenum won't hide his desire to play for head coach Mike Zimmer or remain with the Vikings.

"I love this team," Keenum said. "I love these guys. I love the coaching staff. I love this whole organization. The Wilfs [the team's owners] are awesome. The day I signed, I got a call from the owner welcoming me to the team. From the top down, that trickles down -- just the attitude, the character, just the culture they have around here is awesome. Not to mention Minnesota itself. The people here have been great. My biggest fear coming here was the snow, and I didn't even shovel that. It's been a great year."

Undrafted out of Houston, the 29-year-old Keenum bounced from the Houston Texans to the St. Louis Rams, back to Houston and then to St. Louis, moved with that franchise to Los Angeles and wound up last April in Minnesota with no expectations for a major role.

Then he was called upon in September when Bradford went down with another knee injury and started 16 total games, including Sunday's NFC Championship game. Keenum had 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions in the regular season.

Bridgewater said he "without a doubt" wants to start in 2018. He was demoted to No. 3 quarterback during the playoffs, inviting the notion the Vikings don't view him as a starter going forward. Bridgewater missed the entire 2016 season recovering from a major knee injury and played no meaningful snaps in 2017.

"This year, I think, the biggest test for me was a test of my character. In a perfect world, I would have love to have dressed. But I understand that decisions are made to give this team the best chance of winning. I understand that, and I'm a pro. I know what it takes. It just happened, and I dealt with it."

Bradford, 30, was not available to the media on Monday. He has played for three teams in the past four seasons.
