Baker Mayfield addresses his '#GetMeToMiami' comment

Most collegiate quarterbacks getting ready for the NFL draft don’t announce which team they want to play for. However, that’s exactly what Baker Mayfield did on Thursday night.

Well, sort of. The reigning Heisman winner commented on an Instagram Live video by former Sooners wideout Kenny Stills.

The former OU WR plays for the Dolphins. Mayfield had a little fun with the video, and his comment caused quite a stir.

He wrote: “#GetMeToMiami.” Mayfield’s comment caused everyone in the country to wonder if he really only wants to play for the Dolphins.

Or perhaps he was just playing around with a former Oklahoma star in Kenny Stills. Late Thursday night he addressed the controversy he started.

Mayfield made it clear he isn’t only interested in playing for the Dolphins. The star college QB told everyone to “relax.”

It has to be frustrating for Mayfield. The spotlight is a blessing and a curse, but when a little joke gets taken as truth, statements like this must follow.

ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper has Mayfield going in the top 15. He has him landing at No. 13 to Washington.

Plenty of NFL teams need quarterbacks. Other mock drafts have placed Mayfield as high as No. 6 to the New York Jets.

The NFL Draft is set to take place from April 26-28. It’ll be at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
