Brian Urlacher faces $125M lawsuit from child's mother

The mother of Brian Urlacher's son filed a lawsuit against the Pro Football Hall of Fame finalist, alleging that he and others tried to "paint her as a murderer" after the death of her husband in 2016, according to a Wednesday report from TMZ.

Tyna Karageorge, who formerly was known as Tyna Robertson, had a son with Urlacher in 2005. She later married and had custody of the child when her husband, Ryan Karageorge, died from a gunshot wound following an argument with her. Urlacher received temporary custody of the boy, then 11 years old, after filing an emergency motion in court and citing "suspicious circumstances" surrounding the incident.

A medical examiner later determined that Ryan Karageorge died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Tyna Karageorge reportedly maintains that Urlacher and others tried to persuade the public that the shooting was not a suicide in order to help the ex-Chicago Bears linebacker gain custody of the boy.

Tyna Karageorge is seeking $125 million in the lawsuit, which was filed in the Chicago suburb of Bridgeview, Ill. Other parties listed as defendants in the suit include the Chicago Tribune and one of its reporters who covered the story following Ryan Karageorge's death.
