Vikings QB Keenum: Good job predicting Foles-Keenum championship game

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Case Keenum was struggling to recall the prognosticator who predicted the 2018 NFC Championship Game starting quarterbacks: Keenum and his former teammate, Nick Foles of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Keenum congratulated anyone who saw the Keenum-Foles title game coming prior to this season on Wednesday as the Vikings took the field to begin preparation for the Eagles. Philadelphia, the No. 1 seed in the NFC, will host Minnesota on Sunday.

"I know this is what all of you guys predicted back in the day, a Foles vs. Keenum NFC Championship. So good job to all of you guys who predicted that," Keenum said with a sly smile.

Of course, no educated observer would have guessed Keenum, who started the season as the ideal No. 3 quarterback behind Sam Bradford and Teddy Bridgewater in Minnesota, would be dueling with Foles for a shot at the Super Bowl in January. Too many plot shifts took place to get the teams to this point.

From 2014-2016, Keenum and Foles were in the bottom five in passer rating among the 36 quarterbacks with at least 15 starts. So was Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles, who starts in the AFC title game at New England on Sunday.
