North Korea just called Trump's nuclear tweet the 'spasm of a lunatic'

As North Korea continues playing nice with the South, the country taunted U.S. President Trump.

North Korean state media called President Trump’s tweet about having a bigger nuclear button than Kim Jong Un’s the "spasm of a lunatic."

The state-run newspaper calling out President Trump’s retaliatory tweet which came in response to a New Year’s warning from Kim Jong Un in which he said he always has a nuclear button on his desk. Trump responded, “...I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his…”

The continued squabbling comes as another false alarm rang out, this time in Japan. Amid heightened tensions, broadcaster NHK mistakenly sending out an alert warning of a North Korean missile launch, immediately correcting it to be a false report.

The false alarm coming just days after an emergency alert sent out to residents of Hawaii sent people running for cover for fear of a ballistic missile launch, which turned out to be sent in error.

In the heat of it all, Pope Francis voicing his concern that the world now stands at “the very limit” of nuclear war.
