Mar-a-Lago cited for 15 kitchen violations, maintenance problems

President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, was cited for 15 kitchen violations and other maintenance problems, according to state records after a November inspection.

Despite membership fees that cost an eye watering $200,000, the club’s smoke detectors were missing flashing lights to alert the hearing impaired during an inspection in Nov. 8, according to state records cited in the Miami Herald.

The resort was also cited for a staircase with an exposed steel bar. Both violations could “pose a direct or significant threat to public health, safety, or welfare,” according to state records.

Emergency repairs were made and Mar-a-Lago passed a second inspection on Nov. 17.

Two of the kitchens at the resort were also written up for a total of 15 violations, including the improper storage and tracking of potentially hazardous foods.

Milk was stored at 49 degrees instead of 41 degrees, and curry sauce that was nearly a month old was found in the freezer, according to the records.

Trump, who has spent about a third of his days in office at one of his own properties, met with world leaders like Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping at Mar-a-lago.

The White House, which Trump once reportedly called a “real dump,” has also been overrun with cockroaches, ants and mice, according to work orders obtained by NBC in November.
