GOP's satisfaction with the nation's direction highest in 10 years new poll shows
A new Gallup poll finds that 61 percent of Republicans are satisfied with the direction the country is going, marking the highest the number it has been since 2007.
About one in four Republicans say they are very satisfied, 36 percent are somewhat satisfied, almost one quarter are somewhat dissatisfied and 15 percent say they are very dissatisfied.
Among all Americans, 29 percent are satisfied with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent are dissatisfied.
Gallup noted that the survey was conducted from Jan. 2 - 7 after the GOP passed its tax overhaul bill, which was a major win for the president and the Republican party.
