Trump: ‘I probably have a very good relationship with Kim Jong-un’

President Trump surprised many on Thursday with his remarks about Kim Jong-un, the North Korean leader, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

“I probably have a very good relationship with Kim Jong Un,” Trump told the Journal. “I have relationships with people. I think you people are surprised.”

Just days ago, Trump was taunting Kim by referring to him as “Little Rocket Man.”

In the past, amid rising tensions over nuclear weapons testing by North Korea, the president also called him a “sick puppy” and tweeted that his nuclear button is “much bigger” than Kim’s.

However, in the wake of the recent talks between North Korea and South Korea for the first time in more than two years, Trump appears to be more optimistic about a diplomatic solution.

“We have certainly problems with North Korea, but a lot of good talks are going on right now. I see a lot of good energy,” Trump told reporters on Wednesday. “So hopefully a lot of good things are going to work out.”
