Texas journalist missing after telling roommate man was following her
Friends and family of a Texas journalist say the 29-year-old woman vanished Saturday after sending a text message warning of a man following her inside a Walgreens, according to local reports.
Courtney Roland, 29, was last seen covering a Houston football training camp around 4 p.m. that afternoon, KPRC-TV reported.
She texted her roommate, Autumn Vara, just after midnight saying that the man she saw in the drug store had followed her home in a blue truck. He then sped off, Vara told the Houston television station.
The two women were supposed to meet up but Roland was a no-show.

Vara said on Facebook that a missing persons report was filed for Roland on Sunday.
Houston police did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Houston police Chief Art Acevedo and Gov. Greg Abbott shared tweets spreading the word on Roland’s disappearance.
Roland is a writer for Rivals.com and AggieYell.com in the Houston area.
