The US Navy's most incredible photos from 2017

2017 was an unsurprisingly eventful year for the US Navy.

New ships, such as the USS Washington and USS Gerald R. Ford, were commissioned. The USS Fitzgerald and USS John McCain were involved in accidental collisions. Hurricane victims in the mainland US and Puerto Rico were given aid. ISIS and Syrian forces were hit with cruise missile strikes.

These are just a few of the developments and events witnessed by the US Navy this year. With 2017 coming to a close, we rounded up some of the best Navy photos taken this year that highlight their missions and duties.
