Teacher accused of having sex with student starting when he was 15 and providing him with marijuana

A 29-year-old Oregon teacher is accused of repeatedly having sex with a student as well as providing him with marijuana.

Andrea Baber's relationship with the student began last year when the student was 15, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. The Logos Christian Academy teacher was busted Friday after investigators searched her home in Cottage Grove.

The teen victim's father had reported the relationship earlier this month, according to a probable cause affidavit obtained by the Register-Guard.

The relationship had started with flirting at the school, according to the newspaper. They later kissed while at the movies and before engaging in intercourse, according to authorities.

Baber had sex with the student at least once a week at her home, according to the affidavit obtained by the Register-Guard.

The teacher's husband told Child Protective Services that he caught the pair in the home when they were not completely clothed, according to the newspaper. He also found topless photos of Baber that were texted to the teen, the Register-Guard reported.

Baber taught writing and literature at the school, which is located in Springfield.

She was hit with a number of charges, including third-degree rape and third-degree sodomy. She was arraigned on Monday and will be back in court in March, according to the newspaper.
