Lane Kiffin, Florida Atlantic University reportedly finalizing 10-year deal
Lane Kiffin and FAU are reportedly finalizing a big new contract.
The 42-year-old head coach has been mentioned for some other jobs, but for now, he’ll be staying in Boca Raton.
Bruce Feldman reports that Kiffin and FAU are finalizing a 10-year contract. Kiffin was paid $950,000 this past season. The new deal will surely come with some kind of raise.
While it’s probably unlikely that Kiffin will stay at FAU for the length of that contract, he does appear to be motivated to continue to build the program for another couple of seasons, at least.
Kiffin led FAU to a 10-3 season this fall after the school had logged three consecutive records of 3-9 under former coach Charlie Partridge.
The Owls are set to play Akron in the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl tonight at 7 p.m. E.T. The game will be televised on ESPN. FAU is a 22.5-point favorite.
