A story that captured headlines for months came to a close this week. Democrat Doug Jones defeated Republican Roy Moore in Alabama’s Senate special election Tuesday in a stunning upset. During the campaign sexual misconduct allegations surfaced against Moore, accusing him of pursuing teen girls when he was an adult. As of Friday evening Moore had yet to concede, but Jones' win makes him the first Democrat to represent Alabama in the Senate in 20 years.

Other major headlines of the week included Omarosa Manigault stepping down from her role at the White House, an attempted terrorist attack on New York City's subway and the five year anniversary of the Sandy Hook school shooting.
