Ex-Giant Damontre Moore involved in wild street fight in Texas

He's lucky he wasn't killed.

Former Giant Damontre Moore was involved in an insane street fight that ended with what sounded like a gunshot just days before the Cowboys released the defensive lineman in October.

In an insane video published Thursday by TMZ, Moore can be seen fighting with three other men outside the Bottled Blonde Beer Garden in Texas on Oct. 20. According to the site, Moore apparently tangled with the trio over a woman.

The melee erupted in the parking lot when Moore, 25, got hit with a right cross. He then squared up with the three men and exchanged several punches. Moore was beaten by two of them while the third held him in a headlock, but he broke free and tried to throw a punch at his fleeing attackers through the sunroof of their Porsche Panamera.

As they peeled away with Moore rolling off the roof of the car, a gunshot can be heard on the video. Police later responded to a shots fired complaint, but reportedly no arrests were made. Four days later, Moore was fired by the Cowboys.

Moore was one of two Dallas players to raise a fist during the national anthem, despite owner Jerry Jones's hard line stance against anthem protests. At the time, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said the decision to cut Moore had nothing to do with his protest.

"We had to make a roster move and we just felt like the best decision for our team was to release Damontre Moore," Garrett had said.

Moore's vacant roster spot was used to sign former Jets kicker Mike Nugent.

The Giants used a third-round pick to select Moore out of Texas A&M in 2013. He played two seasons for the Giants before stints with the Dolphins, Raiders, Seahawks and Cowboys.
