An Ohio woman was arrested on Saturday after police discovered the decaying remains of her husband inside three separate containers scattered around the couple's Coventry Township home.

Officers with the Summit County Sheriff's Office arrested 49-year-old Marcia Eubank after her adult son alerted authorities about a suspicious smell and the presence of maggots in his mother's home, according to PEOPLE.

Police discovered multiple containers full of human remains inside the residence that were later identified as those of Marcia Eubank's husband, 54-year-old Howard Eubank.

According to WJW, Eubank admitted to investigators that she shot and dismembered her husband twice in June and had been living with his remains until she was arrested on Dec. 9.

Neighbors told WISN that in order to cover up his disappearance, Eubank told them that her husband moved to Texas months ago after she gave him an unfavorable ultimatum.

"What they told me, he moved to Texas with his buddy because she (Marcia) told him to either quit drinking or leave," neighbor Bill Channell told the station. "Marcia, she's just so calm, you know? She never bothered nobody, but I guess she just had enough. That's the only thing I can figure."

Marcia Eubank has been charged with one count of murder in the death of her husband. Her bond is set at $1 million.
