Woman pleads guilty to killing pregnant neighbor to steal baby

A North Dakota woman has pleaded guilty to killing her pregnant neighbor, so she and her boyfriend could take the baby.

Brooke Crews, 38, could face life in prison for the death of 22-year-old Savanna Greywind of Fargo.

Greywind was eight months pregnant when she disappeared in August.

Her body was found wrapped in plastic in a river by kayakers and the baby was found alive in Crews' apartment.

Police have not revealed how Greywind died.

But According to CBS News, Fargo Police Chief Dave Todd said the death was a "cruel and vicious act of depravity."

Crews and her boyfriend William Hoehn were charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping, murder and lying to a law officer.

Crews pleaded guilty and Hoehn pleaded not guilty.

The father of the baby has custody of the child.
