Trump slams 'failing' NYT over report of him watching 4 to 8 hours of TV a day

President Trump on Monday morning attacked the New York Times over a report that he watches 4-8 hours of television a day.

“Another false story, this time in the Failing @nytimes, that I watch 4-8 hours of television a day – Wrong!” Trump wrote in his tweet. “Also, I seldom, if ever, watch CNN or MSNBC, both of which I consider Fake News. I never watch Don Lemon, who I once called the ‘dumbest man on television!’ Bad Reporting.”

The Times delved into the president’s television viewing habits on Saturday.

“People close to him estimate that Mr. Trump spends at least four hours a day, and sometimes as much as twice that, in front of a television, sometimes with the volume muted,” the Times noted.

The piece also detailed some of the outlets Trump reportedly watches.

“He flips to CNN for news, moves to ‘Fox & Friends’ for comfort and messaging ideas, and sometimes watches MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ because, friends suspect, it fires him up for the day,” according to the Times.

In the past, Trump has expressed he is too occupied with other matters to watch television.

“The W.H. is functioning perfectly, focused on HealthCare, Tax Cuts/Reform & many other things. I have very little time for watching TV,” the president tweeted back in July.

“I know they like to say — people that don’t know me, they like to say I watch television. People with fake sources — you know, fake reporters, fake sources,” Trump told reporters in November. “I don’t get to watch much television, primarily because of documents. I’m reading documents a lot.”
