Trump touts poll placing his approval rating at 45 percent

It seems almost every time a poll with good approval ratings for President Donald Trump is released, he makes sure to boast about the rating on Twitter.

For example, last month a Rasmussen poll had Trump’s approval rating at 46 percent -- and he made sure everyone knew. It was a similar situation when a new Morning Consult and Politico poll came out Friday.

He tweeted his latest approval rating of 45 percent, which is a slight increase compared to last week's poll that had his approval rating at 43 percent.

What he didn’t tweet out was the fact that in the same poll, 51 percent disapproved of his job performance.

In April of 2017 a Wall Street Journal and NBC News poll found his approval rating to be 40 percent, which at the time, marked an all time low for the president. Instead of touting the poll, Trump sent out a tweet calling the polls fake news.

And a recent poll from the Pew Research Center found just 32 percent approve of how Trump is handling his job as President.
