Woman Sydney Loofe found dead after Tinder date disappearance

A woman who disappeared after a Tinder date three weeks ago has been found dead, her family announced on Monday night.

Sydney Loofe shared a Snapchat story with the caption “ready for my date” before she was last seen in Wilber, Nebraska, on Nov. 15.

“It’s with heavy hearts that we share this most recent update with you all...May God grant eternal rest unto thee. We love you Sydney,” according to the Finding Sydney Loofe page run by her family.

The post also included a link to the Antelope County News, which read, “In a tragic ending to the search for Sydney Loofe, her parents announced Monday night that the Neligh native’s body has been recovered.”

Details regarding how Loofe’s body was found have not been released.

Loofe’s friend Terra Gehrig said the 24-year-old was going on a second date with a woman she met on Tinder before she disappeared.

Bailey Boswell, who was named a person of interest along with her 51-year-old roommate Aubrey Trail, confirmed on social media she had gone on a date with Loofe, the Omaha World Herald reported.

Boswell and Trail are being held in the Saline County Jail on unrelated warrants. They have not been charged in connection to Loofe’s disappearance.

The two posted a bizarre video on the Finding Sydney Loofe Facebook page last week claiming they tried to reach out to the police, but never heard back.

Boswell, who can be seen wearing sunglasses and a hoodie, said she didn’t hear from Loofe again after she dropped her off at a friend’s house in the video, which was removed after two hours.

Trail said in the video, “As far as I know, I’m not wanted for anything. I’m a person of interest and I’m not really running from anything.”

Loofe, who worked as a cashier at the home improvement store Menards in Lincoln, enjoyed fishing and was remembered as a caring and kind person.
