Three Obama tweets, no Trump tweets make list of 2017's most retweeted

Updated

He may be the most tweeted-about world leader, but President Trump isn't the most retweeted. In fact, he's not even in 2017's top 10.

That honor goes to the kid who made a public plea to Wendy's for free nuggets for a year.

Behind him is the 44th president, Barack Obama, with a message on inclusion following the summer's violent clashes in Charlottesville involving white nationalists. That tweet garnered 1.7 million retweets and 4.5 million likes, making it the most liked tweet ever.

Third place goes to a tweet from the Penn State Interfraternity Council, offering donations to support Hurricane Harvey victims in exchange for retweets.

Fourth place was also related to a tragedy, but this time the explosion in Manchester. The concert's performer, Ariana Grande, offered her heartfelt condolences.

Fifth place goes, once again, to former president Obama just before leaving office. He appears a third time, following a Linkin' Park tribute to Chester Bennington, and a tweet from LeBron James calling Trump a "bum."

On his last day in office, Obama tweeted: "It's been the honor of my life to serve you."

Ninth place goes to one user offering to donate dog food to Harvey victims in Houston for every retweet and, in tenth, was a plea to retweet the suicide hotline.

In case you were wondering, President Trump's most retweeted message is a controversial video of him tackling a man with a CNN logo for a head.
