Melania Trump described as the president's gatekeeper

Getting one's ideas and views in front of President Trump is highly important for White House staff and outside parties alike, and one way some have reportedly succeeded is by going through first lady Melania Trump.

According to the Wall Street Journal, many friends of the Trump family have managed to bypass the flow of information controls exercised by Chief of Staff John Kelly by simply contacting Melania directly.

One of them told the publication, "If I don't want to wait 24 hours for a call from the president, getting to Melania is much easier."

While some have doubted the first lady's success in her official role at large, she does without question have access to and influence on the president, notes the Washington Post.

Vanity Fair recently reported that it was Melania who finally convinced her husband to run for the high office.

However, the magazine also reported that one of her friends commented, "This isn't something she wanted and it isn't something he ever thought he'd win."

"She didn't want this come hell or high water," the individual also said.

Soon after, an unnamed spokesperson for the first lady blasted Vanity Fair for suggesting that Melania is anything but thrilled to serve the nation.

As communicated by Kate Bennett, a CNN reporter, the statement read, "Once again part of the liberal media, this time Vanity Fair, has written a story riddled with unnamed sources and false assertions."

"As a magazine tailored to women it is shameful that they continue to write salacious and false stories...As has been stated on the record many times before, she is honored by her role," it further noted.
