Mother and infant daughter killed in car crash after colliding with black bear

A woman and her 19-month-old daughter were killed after they collided with a black bear while driving on Thanksgiving night.

CBS says that the 27-year-old woman was driving on Highway 4, near Holiday Mine Road in California, around six at night when the bear walked in front of her car.

The bear was killed in the accident, as were the unidentified woman and her daughter.

A 4-year-old boy who was also in the car was taken to UC Davis Medical Center after suffering minor injuries.

California Highway Patrol Sgt. Sean Fitzgerald says that alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in the incident.
