Mother dies from drug overdose after cleaning up son's drug paraphernalia

A Pennsylvania man died from a drug overdose on Nov. 7. Now, autopsy results on the man’s mother revealed that she also died from an overdose after cleaning up her son’s drug paraphernalia.

Sixty-nine-year-old Theresa Plummer found her son Ronald in the bathroom of his house passed out on Nov. 5. He was taken to the hospital. The next day Theresa went back to the house to clean up.

She was then rushed to the same hospital and died. Her son died the following day.

The coroner, Cambria County Jeff Lees, said he believes the mother absorbed some of the drugs into her system. The official cause of death for the mother won’t be released for another six to eight weeks after the toxicology tests come back.
