Man remembers where he parked his car -- 20 years later
It happens to the best of us – forgetting where we parked our car. While for most, it takes a few extra minutes to find the vehicle, for one man in Germany, it ended up being 20 years.
The whole thing started in 1997, when, unable to find exactly where in Frankfurt he’d left his Volkswagen Passat, he assumed it had been stolen, notes the Daily Mail.
He reported the theft to police and apparently just went on living his life.
Days ago, that long-lost car found him. Authorities contacted the man to let him know his vehicle had been found inside the garage of an industrial building.
It was also said to be holding up a planned demolition.
An area newspaper reported that police drove the 76-year-old man and his daughter to the location, but, sadly, the car no longer worked.
Though it was sent to the scrap yard, good did come from the situation.
The man finally remembered where he had parked his Passat all those years ago.
