Fox News poll shows people in Alabama prefer Barack Obama over Donald Trump

Alabama is generally regarded as a rather red state, but it may not be as Republican-leaning as it seems.

A recent Fox News poll reveals that people of the state are more approving of Barack Obama than they are of President Donald Trump.

The former president emerged with a 52 percent approval rating while the current leader landed between 49 percent and 50 percent.

Obama fared better in terms of disapproval as well, coming in at 45percent compared to Trump’s 47 percent to 48 percent.

Notably, those numbers are not at all reflective of how each fared in their respective elections.

Trump enjoyed a commanding win of the state, claiming 63 percent of the vote.

In both 2008 and 2012, Obama stayed just below the 40 percent mark.

The Fox News poll was conducted from November 13 to 15 and involved 823 of Alabama’s registered voters.

It's important to note, however, that those dates coincide with the time during which multiple sexual misconduct allegations have surfaced against Republican Roy Moore, who is running to represent Alabama in the US Senate.
