This state has the most flyover traffic

As some of us get ready to hop aboard flights to visit loved ones over the holidays, there are a few states that will be flown over more than others.

Championtraveler.com came up with an equation that shows which states have the most flyover traffic.

Surprisingly, with over 466,000 flights passing over it and only 2,387 landing there, West Virginia is the state that gets the most flights flying right over it; a ratio of 195 to 1.

This is because the state is situated between major hub cities which make it a prime location to be flown over.

Coming in at a far off second is Kansas with 52.3 times more flights over than as a destination and Mississippi with 42.1 times more flights over.

Although, to be fair, 16 other states are flown over more, but have a lower ratio because of their number of destination flights.

And, if you were wondering which state has the least amount of fly-over traffic, there are no flights from one U.S. state to another that fly over Hawaii or Alaska.
