George H. W. Bush accused of groping 16-year-old during photo op

Former President George H. W. Bush has been accused of groping a woman who was just 16 years old at the time.

Roslyn Corrigan, the daughter of a CIA employee based in Texas, told TIME magazine that the 41st president grabbed her behind when he visited her father’s office and took a photo with her family in November 2003.

“As soon as the picture was being snapped on the one-two-three he dropped his hands from my waist down to my buttocks and gave it a nice, ripe squeeze, which would account for the fact that in the photograph my mouth is hanging wide open,” she said.

Corrigan says that she was 16 years old and “a child” at the time.

The TIME report cites multiple people who she spoke to about the alleged groping, including her mother directly after it happened.

She is the sixth woman to allege that they were groped by the Republican, whose original statements about the incidents centered on the fact that his hands are near women's bottoms because of the wheelchair he has used for the past several years.

Bush was standing up for the 2003 photo, and was not in a wheelchair for alleged gropings in 2004 and 2006.

His spokesman Jim McGrath told TIME that Bush “simply does not have it in his heart to knowingly cause anyone harm or distress, and he again apologizes to anyone he may have offended during a photo op.”

McGrath did not immediately respond for a separate request for comment about the new allegations in relation to previous explanations about the wheelchair.
