“The initial shock when you first find something out like this, it was pretty terrible,” Scott Ciotta told Inside Edition. “When you see a mugshot and it is on every network and you just see a picture of a person who you've known for 10 years of your life, you fell in love with, raised a family with and now you're seeing something on the news, it's something you just can't believe.”

His 32-year-old wife, Samantha, was a high school English teacher and cheerleading coach at Beaumont High School.

She was arrested after students reportedly passed around Snapchat video of her dancing with two students in her underwear. She allegedly had sex with one of the students in her house. The relationship reportedly began after she helped out the teen when he was failing her class.

Her case is the latest in a seemingly endless list of teacher-sex scandals — a fact that is not lost on her husband.

“You really don't understand how it truly feels till it actually happens in your life," he said.

He added that and his wife had been drifting apart before, but the scandal has destroyed the marriage.

“We filed for divorce but I’m waiting, putting that on the back burner till the case is over,” he said. “I'm just waiting to see what happens with the trial before I make a decision [of] what I believe and what I don't believe.”

He has custody of their two children but he's agreed to let her see them.

Ciotta admitted that he still cares for his wife but admits “I’m definitely not in love with her.”

He added that there is “absolutely not” a scenario where he envisions the two of them back together like they once were.
