Trump's attorney says he'll challenge Mueller if he goes after old real estate deals

In a report on Saturday by Politico, Jay Sekulow an attorney on Trump’s team involving the Russia probe was quoted saying they would challenge special counsel Robert Mueller if he steers the investigation into anything they consider “outside the scope” of the investigation, specifically into the president's former business deals.

Previously, the president had told The New York Times that Mueller would be in “violation” of his special court mandate if he were to look into anything outside the allegations of Trump campaign collusion with Russian.

The report comes after Mueller handed out indictments involving money laundering and tax fraud to former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort and his business associate Rick Gates.

The special counsel's probe is allowed to look into anything possibly linking Trump’s campaign and Moscow, including any additional issues that may arise from the nature of the investigation.
