Yuli Gurriel gets ovation from fans one game after racist gesture

Everything is bigger in Texas.

Even the ovations for a player who was handed a suspension for a racist gesture.

One day after using his hands to slant his eyes at Dodgers pitcher Yu Darvish, Yuli Gurriel received a warm, rousing ovation from Astros fans at Minute Maid Park during Game 4 of the World Series.

In both the pre-game introduction and when stepping up to the plate for his first at-bat of the evening, fans for to their feet and cheered in support of Gurriel.

MLB announced Saturday that Gurriel will be suspended for the first five games of the 2018 season, without pay, for his actions directed at Darvish.
