Bears tight end suffered a gruesome leg injury on a touchdown catch — and then the score was controversially overturned
Chicago Bears tight end Zach Miller suffered a gruesome injury to his leg on a deep touchdown catch against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday that didn't end up counting.
As Miller caught the pass, he landed awkwardly on his leg, suffering a gruesome-looking injury.
The catch was impressive and added six important points for the Bears, but Miller stayed down in obvious pain afterward. Miller later had to be carted off the field.

Adding insult to injury, the officials then reviewed the play and overturned the touchdown, ruling Muller didn't make the catch.
The ruling was additional blow to the Bears, who may be without Miller for some time and lost the needed points while trailing the Saints. Several NFL reporters and analysts on Twitter questioned the officials' decision:
"After review: A man caught a touchdown while gruesomely breaking his leg, but he dropped the ball five seconds after doing so. Incomplete."

The Bears ruled Miller out for the game but did not specify the injury.
