Two dead in shooting at Grambling State

Two people were killed in a shooting at the Grambling State University in Louisiana, according to the school.

Monquiarious Caldwell and Earl Andrews, both 23-year-olds from Farmerville, were shot outside two dorms around midnight Tuesday, the school’s Communications Director Will Sutton told the New York Daily News.

Andrews was a senior at the historically black university. Caldwell was not enrolled at the school, Sutton said.

A video circulating on social media appeared to show a lifeless body on the ground. The Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office has launched an investigation.

The school issued an alert early Wednesday and the Twitter account for the GSU Residential Life warned students to remain in their residential halls.

“Our prayers are with the victims and their families. Violence has no place on our campus," said Sutton.

It was homecoming week at the school, where a man was shot in the arm just last month.
