Giants’ Eli Manning voted most overrated QB by players: poll

"OVER-RATED! OVER-RATED!"

Eli Manning has thrown 329 touchdown passes, won two Super Bowl MVP awards and has been named to four Pro Bowls, but now the Giants quarterback can add another honor to his mantle: the NFL's most overrated quarterback.

Manning received the dubious distinction after 72 players from across the NFL voted him the most overrated quarterback in the league in a recent poll conducted by ESPN published Tuesday.

The polarizing quarterback received 14% of votes. Manning was followed closely behind by the oft-injured Andrew Luck (11%) and mediocre Joe Flacco (10%).

Jay Cutler (7%) and Sam Bradford (7%) rounded out the top five.

ESPN polled 155 players total in their survey, but only 72 decided to answer the question: “Who is the most overrated QB?”

While Manning has led the Giants to two Super Bowl wins, he has also been turnover-prone throughout his career and sports a 31-39 record since Super Bowl XLVI.

Manning, who signed a four-year, $84 million extension with the Giants in 2015, has led the league in interceptions three times in his career (2007, 2010 and 2013).

The 36-year-old passer owns a 45.0 quarterback rating this season, ranking him 21st in the league.
