Report: Mueller’s team interviewed Sean Spicer

Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer has reportedly been interviewed by investigators working under special counsel Robert Mueller.

According to Politico, the Monday session “lasted much of the day”; the publication also states he was “grilled about the firing of former FBI director James Comey and his statements regarding the firing, as well as about Trump’s meetings with Russians officials including one with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in the Oval Office, one person familiar with the meeting said.”

Spicer’s interview comes days after his former White House colleague, ex-chief of staff Reince Priebus, was also questioned by Mueller’s staff.

The two were included in a list of current and former Trump administration officials who the Washington Post reported last month were of interest to the special counsel investigation into Russia’s election interference.

President Trump, meanwhile, has continued to deny any wrongdoing; during a press conference Monday, he said, “…there has been absolutely no collusion.”

He also told reporters the Mueller investigation should be wrapped up because, in his words, “I think the American public is sick of it.”
