Hillary Clinton breaks her toe in fall down the stairs

Hillary Clinton fell and broke her toe during her book tour in London as President Trump said he hoped she would run for president again in 2020.

Clinton, who had to cancel several interviews on Monday, appeared on The Graham Norton Show with a protective walking boot on her left foot.

“I was running down the stairs in heels with a cup of coffee in hand, I was talking over my shoulder and my heel caught and I fell backwards,” she said.

“I tried to get up and it really hurt. I’ve broken my toe,” Clinton continued, going on to say she received “excellent care” from the UK’s publicly funded healthcare system.

Clinton, who missed out on her scheduled interviews with Radio 4’s Women’s Hour and ITV’s This Morning, is in London promoting her memoir What Happened.

Earlier Monday morning, Trump inexplicably tweeted, “I was recently asked if Crooked Hillary Clinton is going to run in 2020? My answer was, ‘I hope so!’”

He later reiterated his comments during a joint news conference with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, saying, “Oh, I hope Hillary runs. Hillary, please run again.”

When asked about Clinton’s defense of NFL players protesting the national anthem, Trump said her claims that the players were protesting the criminal justice system rather than the American flag or anthem, was what cost her the election.

“That’s why she lost the election. Honestly, it’s that thinking. That is the reason she lost the election.”
