Bannon working with Blackwater founder in backing GOP challengers

Senators Mitch Mcconnell, Dean Heller and Deb Fischer better watch out, because Steve Bannon has his eye on them.

In an attempt to knock off some current GOP senators, Bannon -- President Trump’s former Chief Strategist -- is backing the primary challengers of almost every Republican senator who runs for reelection in 2018.

He says that he will support any challenger on two conditions. First, they have to vote against majority leader Mitch McConnell. Second, they vote to end senators ability to block legislation via filibuster.

And to add an even more sinister tone to Bannon’s plan, he’s working with Erik Prince, founder of the mercenary group, Blackwater.

Interestingly, the only person who appears to be safe from Bannon is Texas Senator Ted Cruz, because he is considered to be conservative enough, according to Bloomberg.

McConnell isn't actually up for re-election until 2020 but Bannon hopes that by pushing out his supporters he can then put an end to McConnell's reign as Majority leader.
