UNLV hockey coach among those injured in Las Vegas shooting

Assistant UNLV Hockey Coach Nick Robone was among those injured in Sunday night’s horrifying shooting in Las Vegas.

Robone, 28, was with his younger brother and friends at the Route 91 Harvest Festival at the time of the shooting, according to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

According to Robone’s father, the group dropped to the ground as the shooting broke out, but the coach was hit in the chest. His brother, Anthony, found him with blood coming from his mouth as the group dragged him to some police cars to stabilize him before emergency units reached the scene and transported him to the hospital.

Robone underwent surgery to remove a bullet from his chest, the team announced via Twitter. The bullet apparently missed his lung, although it was “bruised badly.”

The last update from the team on Monday afternoon said Robone will remain in the ICU at the hospital, although he is expected to make a full recovery.
