Internet reacts to Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ ‘Black and White’ comment

In the past few days, Trump has repeatedly called for those players to be fired and denied that the issue has anything to do with race.

When asked to shed some light on what the president hopes to accomplish through his condemnation, the White House press secretary replied during a press briefing, "I don’t think there’s much to clarify  — it was pretty black and white there.”

Twitter, which is always ready, sprung into action.

“LOL at @SarahHuckabee for saying the NFL issue is ‘pretty black and white’ and not even getting the irony of her own words," said one commenter.

Another went a decidedly more direct route, writing, “Sarah Huckabee Sanders is right on this point. It is ‘black and white.’ White lives matter to Trump. Black lives don’t.”

There were also some who treated Sanders’ slip as a moment of candor.

Those tweets included, “Fair play for admitting it,” and, “Probably first truth we’ve heard from #sarahsanders.”
