Pats-Falcons Repeat?: 3-0 Atlanta sees Super Bowl odds bump

Updated

And we're on to Week 4.

Amid national controversy surrounding President Trump's criticism of on-field player protests, NFL play continues on Thursday when the Bears take on the Packers in Green Bay. While many teams have lost one, two or all of their last three games, two teams have to date maintained perfect records, and one of them might be making a repeat Super Bowl appearance.

According to Bovada, the Atlanta Falcons -- who alongside the Kansas City Chiefs have a perfect 3-0 record -- are currently in the No. 2 spot with the second best chance of winning Super Bowl 52. This odds bump for Atlanta comes after the Falcons have shown dominance against their first three opponents, potentially setting them up for a repeat end-of-season battle against the favorite New England Patriots.

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots hold steady with the greatest odds of claiming the repeat Super Bowl win after they narrowly defeated the Houston Texans 36-33 on Sunday, but their odds this week do dip from 4/1 to 7/2. Brady was named the AFC offensive player of the week both after Week 2 and Week 3 play, marking his 29th career player of the week award.

Oddsmakers this week have placed the Falcons with better odds than other NFC-elite teams including the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks. The Packers' odds fell from 10/1 to 17/2, while the Seahawks chances currently stand at 121.

The New York Jets gave up their last place odds spot to the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns. Oddsmakers have predicted both teams have 5000/1 odds of winning this season's Super Bowl.
