Congressman Al Green suggests black people shouldn't visit the White House until Trump apologizes for NFL comments

Democratic Texas Congressman Al Green is calling on black Americans to turn down White House invitations until President Donald Trump apologizes for calling NFL players who take a knee during the national anthem a "sons of bitches."

Green called Trump's comments a "new level of indecency" while speaking on the "Joe Madison Show" on SiriusXM radio Thursday.

"In our community, there are certain lines you don't cross," Green said. "You don't talk about a man's mother in that fashion. There are consequences when you do that."

The lawmaker said that every black person in the U.S. should be upset about Trump's comments, which he believes the president needs to apologize for.

This news comes days after Green announcing that he's going to force a House vote on Trump's impeachment next week following his remarks.
