John Kelly accused of being Trump’s 'nanny' and a 'political svengali'
Some of President Trump’s supporters appear to be turning on White House chief of staff John Kelly.
According to a new report by The Hill, Kelly’s effort to bring discipline to the West Wing has, "triggered a backlash from some Trump backers, who call him names like ‘Nanny Kelly’ or ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ and accuse him of trying to control a president who doesn’t like to be managed."
“He seems to think he is a political Svengali. He’s there to bring structure and make it an adult White House,” Sam Nunberg, one of the president’s former campaign officials, noted. “Donald Trump wasn’t necessarily elected to have Pentagon folks running the West Wing along with Democrats.”

Trump ally Roger Stone also alluded to Kelly’s expanded role by tweeting Thursday, “Wait! Why was the president wearing a blue suit jacket and black suit pants? Is Kelly picking his clothes out now?”
Trump had been photographed wearing a mismatched suit during a meeting the prior day.
The perceived dynamic shift may have even been foreshadowed by the Washington Post which released a humorous op-ed last month, titled, “Notes for the president’s babysitter on John Kelly’s night off.”
Kelly was widely cheered by Republicans when it was announced that he would be replacing Reince Priebus as Trump’s chief of staff.

The military veteran has since reportedly focused on being a filter for the president, with a Politico report stating, “He will not accept aides walking into the Oval Office and telling the president information without permission — or without the information being vetted.”
According to The Hill, some believe Kelly is being criticized by those who no longer have unfettered access to the president while Kelly’s detractors have expressed doubts about his ideological alignment with Trump.
