Wife of Trump Organization ethics lawyer arrested for allegedly having sex with inmate

The wife of an ethics lawyer for Donald Trump’s Trust, which is meant to keep his business and political ties separate, has been arrested for allegedly having sex with an inmate in her car in Virginia.

53-year-old Teresa Jo Burchfield was allegedly caught with a 23-year-old inmate in the backseat of her car by police near the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center in Virginia, about an hour away from DC.

Apparently, the inmate was also holding contraband in the form of cigarettes, clothes and vitamin supplements that Burchfield had given him.

The inmate, who was not identified by police, was on trustee status, meaning he was able to work in and out of the correctional facility.

Burchfield was charged with willfully delivering unauthorized articles to a confined prisoner and was released on a $5,000 bond.

Burchfield is married to Bobby Burchfield, a partner at Washington’s King and Spalding, who was appointed as an independent ethics advisor to the Donald J. Revocable Trust in January.

A longtime Republican attorney, Burchfield also served as counsel to President George W. Bush in the 2000 Florida recount.
