AG Jeff Sessions announces end of DACA immigration policy

Following months of speculation surrounding whether President Donald Trump would scrap the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals policy, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced on Tuesday that the "Dreamer" program is officially being rescinded.

"The executive branch, through DACA, deliberately sought to achieve what the legislative branch specifically refused to authorize on multiple occasions," Sessions said of 2012 Obama-era immigration policy. "Such an open-ended circumvention of immigration laws was an unconstitutional exercise of authority by the executive branch."
