Headlines this week were largely dominated by the destruction wreaked by Hurricane Harvey on the Gulf Coast, especially Houston, Texas, and surrounding areas. 

Floods of historic proportion inundated the streets of southeast Texas as recovery and relief efforts were ramped up throughout the week. President Trump paid a visit to the region on Tuesday, waving the state flag in support. 

Elsewhere in the world, tributes were paid to the late Princess Diana on the 20-year anniversary of her death. North Korea also acknowledged a missle it had fired into Japanese airspace for the first time.
