Help stand up to hate in Charlottesville by supporting diversity and equality

Recent events in Charlottesville, Virginia, have shocked citizens across our nation -- but they were even more devastating for those directly involved.

Three lives were lost during the violence in the Southern city: Two police officers who were keeping watch over the protests were killed when their helicopter went down, and 32-year-old Heather Heyer was killed when a car was driven into a crowd of counter-protesters. Dozens of others were injured.

Even if you don't live in the Charlottesville area, there are plenty of ways you can help those affected by these tragic events and ensure equality and safety for all Americans. Oath supports the following organizations and encourages consumers to contribute any way they can.

  • The American Civil Liberties Union, or ACLU, aims to protect the freedoms all United States citizens have a right to. A donation to the ACLU will help the organization fight against inequalities and the infringement of constitutional rights.

  • The Anti-Defamaton League fights against all forms of hate, especially anti-Semitism. Contributions to the Anti-Defamation League will help to fight defamation, confront extremism and promote inclusion and respect for all.

  • The Southern Poverty Law Center is focused on fighting hate and bigotry while seeking justice for the most vulnerable members of our country. Your donation would help the SPLC work towards a future of equal justice and equal opportunity.
