Teens treated for rabies after allegedly gang raping a donkey

Fifteen teenagers that developed an admiration for a donkey were forced to spend a week in the hospital after contracting a disease from the animal.

The youths from rural Morocco had to undergo treatment for rabies after allegedly trying to rape an infected donkey, Morocco World News reported, citing the Moroccan daily Al Akhbar newspaper.

The disturbing incident has left the parents in "distress and horror," the outlet reported.

According to the paper, local authorities say the number of people infected by the donkey could be even higher as some families sought outside treatment for their sons to avoid humiliation.

Now, law enforcement officials are searching for anyone else who approached the animal for similar motives to lessen the chance of the disease spreading even further.

Police told the Moroccan newspaper that the owner of the donkey has since been ordered to slaughter the animal to prevent others from being affected.
