An unflattering mugshot caused a wanted man to turn himself in

A man chose to hand himself into police all because of an unflattering mugshot.

Wayne Esmonde was wanted in connection with a July 18th assault when South Wales Police posted his mugshot on Facebook to help bring him in.

But, Esmonde saved them the effort by commenting on the photo saying ..."I am him. Not a very flattering mugshot ... I'd appreciate it if you'd take this post down. Innocent until proven guilty and all that."

He asked police to take the photo down in return for his surrender. They have since updated their Facebook page.
